Lockdown Lecture: The Statistical Mechanics of Epidemics

Hear UNSW physicist, Professor Tim Duty, review the standard mathematical model for epidemics, which is based on stochastic dynamics of individuals who pass on infectious disease through random incidence. Although the mathematical results have been around for several decades, Professor Duty offers a unique perspective coming from statistical-physics.  Furthermore, he relates some of the model insights to the current situation.
