Associate Professor Liz Angstmann wins AIP Education Medal

The Australian Institute of Physics is dedicated to the promotion of the role of physics in research, education, industry and the community.  The institute is a leader in the advocacy of legislative and policy agendas and supports the setting and maintaining of standards and qualifications in the field.

Each year the Institute awards a series of honors to outstanding physicists working in universities, industry bodies and research centres across Australia.

In June 2021, the Australian Institute of Physics named Associate Professor Liz Angstmann, UNSW, as the recipient of the Education Medal (2020).

Associate Professor Angstmann, who teaches in the School of Physics at UNSW, was selected for her outstanding contribution to physics education in Australia by developing innovative approaches to first year and service teaching, increasing the number of students voluntarily electing to study physics, and establishing programs to improve the experience of secondary school physics students in New South Wales.
