Research in Acoustics at UNSW focuses on the voice, musical instruments and the instrument-player interaction, and more general issues such as information in music. We have a large resource database presenting our research at a non-technical level, as well as our formal scientific publications. The Acoustics Group has developed techniques for rapid, precise measurement of acoustic impedance spectra and transfer functions under a range of conditions, for producing precisely known acoustic currents and for minimising harmonic distortion. Our research is supported by the Australian Research Council and by instrument makers, music teachers, performers and ensembles.

More information on the Acoustics Group and links to resources can be found below.
