Research Group(s):

Education:

2010 –  Ph.D. Astronomy “Spin-orbit Alignments of Exoplanets”, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia
2009 B.Sc. Astronomy/Astrophysics and Mathematical Science (double major) with Magna Cum Laude, Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Florida

Research Interests:

I am a PhD student working with Chris Tinney and my research interests are on extrasolar planet detection and characterization. I am carrying out radial velocity follow up measurements of transiting planet candidates from the transit survey HATSouth and determining the spin-orbit alignments of transiting planets through measurements of the Rossiter-McLaughlin effect using the newly commissioned fiber bundle CYCLOPS2 at the Anglo-Australian Telescope. The key aim of my research is to understand the processes involved in planet formation and the mechanisms driving planetary migration and spin-orbit misalignments.

Honours, Awards and Memberships:

2010 – 2014 UNSW University International Postgraduate Award (UIPA)
2010 – 2014 UNSW Exoplanetary Science PhD Top-Up Scholarship
Graduated with high honors (Magna Cum Laude) from Florida Institute of Technology with GPA of 3.74
