School of Physics Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Statement

The School of Physics aims to provide a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for all students and staff regardless of their race, sex, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation or gender identification. As such, the School strongly supports UNSW's Equity and Diversity Policy in regard to these matters.

The School of Physics Equity and Diversity Committee oversees these issues. Its mission is to understand and overcome barriers to entry and advancement for members of under-represented groups in the School of Physics and to ensure that we provide a comfortable and safe educational environment for all.

In liaison with UNSW Disability Services, the School coordinates appropriate course accommodations for students. The Disability Services liaison person in the School is Susan Hagon, Teaching Manager, (ph: 02 9385 6293).

We believe that (LGBTIQ) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer (Questioning) students ought to be able to enjoy their time with us without experiencing any sense of alienation or ill-treatment at the hands of either staff or fellow students at UNSW.
